A Doula’s Heart: How My Own Birth Lit the Path for My Calling
For some, being a doula is a job. For me, it’s a sacred calling—one that began with my very first breath.
Born in 1998 through a rare and determined VBAC, my story started in the hands of a doula whose presence left a lifelong imprint—not just on my mother, but on me. Years later, a handwritten letter from that very doula stirred something deep in my spirit. It helped me see birth not only as a physiological process, but as a holy moment worthy of honor and reverence.
Now, as the founder of Lamb & Latch Doula Services, I walk alongside families with the same faith-filled, evidence-based support that first welcomed me into the world. My work is rooted in prayer, presence, and the belief that every birth matters—and every beginning deserves to be remembered.
Read the full story of how my own birth led me to this work—and why I now write letters for the babies I witness entering the world, just like the one that changed my life.
